(2001) Conference Women in the Azores and the Immigrant Communities, University of the Azores, with PAWA (Portuguese-American Women’s Association), 14-16 July
Aware of the need to treat gender issues in the context of the Azores, Rosa Neves Simas organized the Conference on Women in the Azores and the Immigrant Communities, which took place from July 14-16 of 2001, at the University of the Azores. For three days, and with the participation of women from PAWA, the Portuguese American Women’s Association based on the East Coast of the USA, careful attention was given to the themes of Women in Society, Culture, Education (including Special Education), Legal Issues and Health.
